The Calm Commuter hangs by the door and shows the next trains from your station, in ink, not light. You glance at it on the way out.
Every piece comes in solid white oak or walnut, never veneer, never plastic.
Pale and tight-grained, finished with a clear hardwax oil. It warms toward honey over the years.
Deep brown with a soft, wavy figure. In daylight it slowly mellows to a warmer, lighter brown.
How it's made
For now Komado is one person and a table saw. Each frame is cut, finished and put together by hand, a few at a time. Our story
Mitered from solid boards, so the long grain runs all the way round.
Sanded by hand and oiled on every face, inside and out, so it stays flat.
The screen and electronics go in from the back, with screws, never glue, so it can be repaired.
Tested, then packed with a numbered, signed card.
White oak or walnut, finished by hand with a hardwax oil.
No monthly fee for anything it shows, ever.
Repaired or replaced, with shipping paid both ways.
Send it back unused, and we refund what you paid.
